Meet the Founder

TSAI, CHIA-HSIU (KENNY)

As a high profile saxophonist, Kenny Tsai leverages his first-hand experience as both a performer and educator to develop his equipment at Air Music. He believes high comfort and minimal resistance is the key to reliable virtuosity, control, and musical expression.
Born in Chang-hua Taiwan, Kenny is a world-renowned saxophonist and the inventor of Air Music. A leading saxophone educator in Taiwan, Kenny teaches saxophone at the National Chiao Tung University, National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University of Arts, and Taipei National University of Arts.
Completing his masters at the Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Kenny has travelled the world to perform in orchestras, wind bands, and as a soloist. Notably, Kenny received a "New Artist Award" at the 9th Hamamatsu International Wind Instrument Academy & Festival, scoring a performance of the Denisov sonata in Hamamatsu concert hall.

Justinn Lu
As a Melbourne-based classical saxophonist, Justinn Lu has forged a diverse portfolio career spanning across performance, media, events planning, and now sales with Air Music Australia, tied together with a passion to merge musical artistry with entrepreneurial practice.
At the age of 18, Justinn was the first saxophonist to win the prestigious NSW Young Virtuoso Awards. Winning various competitions around Australia during his studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium, Justinn has performed as a soloist the Sydney Opera House and Hamer Hall in Melbourne including concerti by Pierre Max Dubois and Takahashi Yoshimatsu. Justinn has performed extensively throughout the Asia-Pacific, including in Bangkok, Singapore, and most recently in China for the 20th World Saxophone Congress with the Ocean Saxophone Quartet.
Justinn is now a frequently performing soloist and chamber musician, who directs Air Music Australia since its founding in 2024.

Ocean Sax Quartet
The Ocean Sax Quartet is an Asian-Australian saxophone quartet based in Melbourne, Australia. Meeting during their studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium, they continued performing together with a passion to capture Asian-Australian identity through innovative musical projects, merged with their love for the already diverse saxophone quartet canon.
All four members are passionate soloists, chamber musicians, and educators who swear by Air Music to consistently deliver high technical and expressive demands of their frequent performances.
